Telegram Integration

Telegram is a secure, open-source messaging platform. To integrate with Telegram you will interact with our Telegram bot, CronitorBot.

From Telegram:

  1. Start a conversation with CronitorBot to receive alerts directly, or invite CronitorBot to a group. Don't worry, our bot has no access to your messages.
  2. Confirm your intent to receive alerts by using the command /start@CronitorBot. A magic link will be provided.
  3. Click the link to complete your integration.
  4. Your Telegram integration is now ready to use. You can repeat this process to connect Cronitor with multiple individual or group chats.

Sending Alerts to a Specific Topic

If your Telegram group has Topics (forum threads) enabled, you can direct Cronitor alerts to a specific topic instead of the default "General" topic.

  1. Open the topic where you want to receive alerts (e.g., "Alerts").
  2. Send /start@CronitorBot from within that topic.
  3. Click the magic link to complete the integration as usual.

Alerts will be posted to the topic where you initiated the /start command. To change topics, remove the integration and set it up again from the desired topic.

From Cronitor:

  1. Add your new integration to monitors or notification lists to begin receiving alerts.
  2. You're done!
